Brammer Buck & Hickman Launches Major New Apprenticeship Scheme

During a very difficult year for all, we’re delighted to bring some positive news to you with the launch of a new Apprenticeship Scheme.

At Brammer Buck & Hickman we have always placed great emphasis on supporting the development of our employees. The new Apprenticeship Scheme goes one step further, opening our doors to bring new talent into the business and equipping them with knowledge and skills for a career in the Engineering, Manufacturing Sales Management and Digital.

The following key strategic areas of our business are welcoming in new apprentices, with the following three apprenticeship programmes launched in 2020:

·       Engineering.    We have already taken on apprentices in Engineering Centres in Uddingston, Scotland; Newport, Wales; and Wolverhampton, England.  We are supporting the apprentices with mentoring, networking opportunities and monthly touchpoint calls.

·       Insite™ Management.  This is a rapidly growing area of the business where we have a genuinely competitive edge over rivals.  Becoming an Insite™ Manager is not something that can be learnt from academia alone as it requires two levels of knowledge and skills sets, which this apprenticeship addresses: manufacturing and management.  Seven apprentices have been onboarded to this apprenticeship programme so far.

·       Digital Marketing.  As Brammer Buck & Hickman continues to build on its digital presence, including the ecommerce side of the business, nurturing digital skills is vital.  We have appointed two Digital Marketing apprentices working out of Manchester who are already contributing to our online delivery.

The new Apprenticeship Scheme has been championed by the HR team, who have worked incredibly hard to establish it (and make fundamental changes to its delivery in light of the pandemic!) and recruit apprentices across the UK.  It represents a substantial investment for Brammer Buck & Hickman but, at a time when youth unemployment is rising, we see it as a vital investment in our business and our industry.

Twelve lucky apprentices have already been recruited to the new scheme.  A few vacancies remain for our Insite™ Apprenticeship programme, so spread the word!
