Rubix in the UK expands its motion, control & automation offering with acquisition of Gapp Automation Ltd. (Gapp)
We are delighted to announce that Gapp Automation Ltd. (Gapp), a leading independent electrical automation & drives distributor, will now be joining the Rubix family in the UK as part of the Rubix Motion, Control & Automation (MCA) business unit.
Gapp was founded in 2008 and remains based in Bedford as a leading value-added supplier of machine controls, visualisation, electrical drives, linear motion, measurement & sensing, motors & gearboxes, mechanical transmission, and light & sound products for customers across a wide range of sectors, including packaging, material handling, medical/rehab, food & beverage and labelling. Its generated sales of c. £4m in the year ending 31 December 2022.
Gapp will become part of the Rubix MCA business unit, retaining its existing branding whilst becoming ‘A Rubix Company’. In joining this business unit alongside Matara – A Rubix Company and KJN Automation – A Rubix Company, Gapp Automation will extend the Group’s technical capabilities into electrical MCA solutions while providing synergies for both organisations in relation to the breadth and depth of customer offer.
From the Rubix perspective, this is another exciting move. It substantially reinforces the expertise and technical capabilities of our MCA offer. Both companies will benefit from greater depth and breadth of customer offerings.
Gapp will report into Bob Clark, Managing Director of our MCA business unit in the UK.
