Rubix in the UK expands its cutting tool and machining offering with acquisition of West Country Tool Co. Ltd. (WCT)
We are delighted to announce that West Country Tool Co. Ltd. (WCT), a leading independent British cutting tool distributor, will now be joining the Rubix family in the UK as part of the Rubix Cutting & Machining division.
WCT was founded in 1974 and remains based in Newton Abbot as a leading value-added supplier of cutting tools and related products across the South of England. Its 23 employees generated sales of £7m in the year ending 31 December 2021. The business focuses on indexable carbide tooling and the provision of customer-oriented technical-based solutions.
WCT will become part of the Rubix Cutting & Machining division, retaining its existing branding whilst becoming ‘A Rubix Company’ This means that WCT will continue to manage relationships with its customers, whilst now being able to extend its portfolio to include the full range of Rubix industrial products, services and solutions.
From the Rubix perspective, this is another exciting move. It substantially reinforces the expertise and technical capabilities of our cutting tools offer, consolidating our leadership in the cutting tools market, and adding a significant presence in the South of England. Both companies will benefit from greater geographic coverage and extended breadth and depth of our respective customer offerings.
WCT will report into Nigel Banks, Managing Director of our Services Division in the UK.
