Machine builders who have traditionally used a cylinder and electric distributor for pushing and blocking applications are now getting a space and time saving solution with the launch of SMC's new CVQ series which features a range of cylinders and valves. Originally developed to provide a single, compact all in one cylinder/valve system, we simply took our most popular CQ2 cylinder and our V100 electric distributor and literally built them together as a single unit. By adopting this innovative approach, the range of the new CVQ cylinder allows a greater saving of space since it is not necessary to provide space for the valve or the connection. By eliminating the coupling, future performance benefits will be achieved, such as reduced pressure drop and air consumption - up to 37% per cycle - and improved response time compared to previous configurations of separate cylinder and valve. As an all-in-one system, the new CVQ only requires three coupling connections, instead of seven as it used to be, and provides reduced labour time for installation and maintenance, the CVQ series combines a compact double-acting cylinder available in rod diameters of 32, 40, 50 or 63 mm for applications requiring a cylinder speed between 50 and 500 mm/s and a 2-position dust-tight electric distributor IP40 and available in 24 or 12 V low power options.
