SMC has improved its guided cylinder, the MGP series. The MGP-Z series is up to 17% lighter and offers space savings thanks to shorter piston rod guides, without affecting the range of functions, durability, and operational quality of the original series. The ability to directly mount rounded-shape detectors on the MGP-Z cylinder eliminates the need for mounting brackets and reduces labor costs. Frequent problems with incorrect detector alignment are reduced by using a static detector with dual indication D-M9*W. The MGP-Z series includes various options and standard features, such as three guide types, four mounting constructions, a two-way port, and copper- and fluorine-free versions. It is suitable for various industries, such as general automation and automotive, and for many types of applications including smooth pushing and lifting, side loading when used as a bumper in impact situations, or minimal plate displacement.
