Tesa® 7140 is a laminate film, thus providing both durability and high tensile strength. When bonding different types of surfaces (glass, metal, plastics), clearly defined surface properties are essential for reliable adhesion. Masking flange areas prior to paint processes is best practice to enable the later on applied adhesive to bond directly to the e-coated surface, thus ensuring bonding reliability and eliminating the need for additional surface treatment steps. Tesa® 7140 is compatible with common e-coats/fillers and structural liquid adhesives.
