Suited to high radial loads and to use as a free or fixed bearing, cylindrical roller bearings offer low friction and good rigidity. They are available in a wide range of models and variants designed for specific conditions: heat, axial displacement, operating noise, speed, capacity, etc.
The NJ.EA.T2X series from NTN combines cylindrical rollers, an optimized ULTAGE™ geometry and a polyamide cage. This design meets the needs of mechanisms subjected to significant radial loads and high rotational speeds.

Breakdown:
• NJ: single-row cylindrical roller bearing with two shoulders on the outer ring and one shoulder on the inner ring; separable design + axial retention in one direction
• EA: compact ULTAGE™ design, with increased load capacity thanks to internal optimization of the rollers and raceways
• T2X: reinforced polyamide cage offering lightness and strength

Features:
The line contact between the rollers and the raceways (cylindrical rollers) allows support of high radial loads while maintaining good suitability for high speeds. The NJ configuration combines two shoulders on the outer ring and one shoulder on the inner ring. This architecture provides axial guidance of the shaft in a single direction and allows the accommodation of a moderate axial load in that direction.

The separable design facilitates assembly and disassembly operations, particularly when tight fits are required. The rings can be mounted independently on the shaft and in the housing.

The EA version is based on NTN's ULTAGE™ technology. Optimization of the diameter, length and number of rollers increases load capacity while retaining standard limiting dimensions. This development allows maintenance intervals to be extended and offers improved suitability for high speeds.

The T2X polyamide cage is robust and withstands high temperatures. Its low weight limits internal forces during rotation.

Maintenance:
This cylindrical roller bearing requires lubrication suited to the operating conditions to limit wear of the raceways and rollers. The polyamide cage conditions the choice of lubricant: oils containing extreme-pressure additives based on sulfur or phosphorus can accelerate degradation of the material at high temperature.

Regular checks of lubricant condition, vibrations, operating noise and temperature allow detection of signs of premature wear. During maintenance operations, external surfaces must be kept clean to prevent contaminants from entering the bearing.
