Suited to high radial loads and for use as a free or fixed bearing, cylindrical roller bearings offer low friction and good rigidity. They are available in a wide range of models and variants tailored to specific contexts: heat, axial displacement, operating noise, speed, capacity, etc.
The NJ.EA.T2X series from NTN combines cylindrical rollers, optimized ULTAGE™ geometry and a polyamide cage. This design meets the needs of mechanisms subjected to high radial loads and high rotational speeds.
Deconstruction:
• NJ: single-row cylindrical roller bearing with two shoulders on the outer ring and one shoulder on the inner ring; separable design + axial retention in one direction
• EA: compact ULTAGE™ design with enhanced load capacity thanks to internal optimization of the rollers and raceways
• T2X: reinforced polyamide cage providing lightness and strength
Features:
The line contact between the rollers and the raceways (cylindrical rollers) allows support of high radial loads while maintaining good high-speed performance. The NJ configuration pairs two shoulders on the outer ring with one shoulder on the inner ring. This arrangement provides axial guidance of the shaft in a single direction and permits the accommodation of a moderate axial load in that direction.
The separable design eases assembly and disassembly operations, especially when tight fits are required. The rings can be mounted independently on the shaft and in the housing.
The EA version is based on NTN's ULTAGE™ technology. Optimization of roller diameter, length and number increases load capacity while retaining the standard limiting dimensions. This development allows extension of maintenance intervals and offers improved high-speed capability.
The T2X polyamide cage is robust and resistant to high temperatures. Its low weight reduces internal stresses during rotation.
Maintenance:
This cylindrical roller bearing requires lubrication appropriate to the operating conditions to limit wear of the raceways and rollers. The polyamide cage conditions the choice of lubricant: oils containing sulfur- or phosphorus-based extreme-pressure additives can accelerate material degradation at high temperature.
