The SKF TWIM 15 portable induction heater is designed to heat roller bearings that are press-fitted onto a shaft. The heat causes the bearing to expand, eliminating the need for force during installation. A temperature differential of 90 ° C (162 ° F) between the bearing and the shaft is generally sufficient to allow installation. In addition, the TWIM 15 can be used to heat other ring-shaped, metallic components and can therefore be used flexibly.
The TWIM 15 is characterized by a glass fiber reinforced, high temperature resistant plastic construction, which enables a small temperature difference between the inner and outer ring of the bearing. This helps to reduce internal stresses caused by excessive thermal expansion of the inner ring compared to the outer ring.
The clear LED control panel does not require any special training. The control panel is used for temperature control and shows whether the TWIM 15 is in operation.
