Product details : 3M 89735 FIBRE DISC 787C 125MMX22MM 60+ SLOTTED
The 3M™ Roloc™ 787C Fibre Disc is designed for intensive grinding on heat-sensitive metals and combines a vulcanised fibre backing with a durable resin bond. This construction helps reduce disc changes while maintaining a consistently high cut rate throughout the life of the disc.
Features:
The 787C Fibre Disc is built using 3M Precision-Shaped Grain (PSG) technology, engineered to maximise material removal. The precisely shaped triangular ceramic grains cut cleanly through metal rather than ploughing or gouging, reducing heat build-up at the workpiece surface. As the abrasive wears, the grains continually self-sharpen to expose fresh, sharp cutting edges, helping to maintain a fast, consistent cut throughout the disc's service life.
The stiff backing made from vulcanised fibres provides excellent support for the abrasive while withstanding demanding grinding conditions. A grinding aid incorporated into the 787C helps keep grinding temperatures lower when working on heat-sensitive alloys, reducing surface oxidation and minimising the risk of metallurgical changes. The 3M™ Roloc™ TR attachment system enables quick, tool-free disc changes for improved productivity.
Specifications:
• Available diameters: 50.8 mm, 76.2 mm, 125 mm, 180 mm.

Strengths
• High, consistent cut rate provided by 3M Precision-Shaped Ceramic Grain technology, helping to reduce processing time and operator effort.
• Grinding aid helping to reduce grinding temperatures on stainless steel and nickel alloys, limiting surface oxidation and metallurgical changes.
• Continuous self-sharpening action maintaining cutting performance and reducing the frequency of disc replacement.
• Durable vulcanised fibre backing combined with a strong resin bond for excellent tear resistance during high-pressure grinding.
• 3M™ Roloc™ TR quick-change attachment system enabling fast, tool-free disc replacement and reduced production downtime.

Applications
The 787C is intended for production environments where stainless steel and nickel-based alloys are frequently processed. It is suitable for a wide range of metalworking operations, including weld removal, deburring, chamfering, bevelling, high-pressure grinding and semi-finishing.
Typical applications include metal fabrication, heavy fabrication, welded structure manufacturing, industrial maintenance and surface preparation. The disc can be fitted to angle grinders and disc sanders used in metalworking workshops where productivity and surface finish quality are key requirements. For light to medium-duty applications on carbon steel or aluminium, the backing pad should be selected according to the application to optimise cutting performance and disc life.
