Use the 3M™ Cubitron™ ll Sanding Belt 947A for outstanding results in applications ranging from automatic high-pressure grinding to manual operations at low to medium-high pressure with equipment such as backstand sanders, file-belt sanders, satin finishing machines and bench sanders. Our 947A sanding belts feature Precision Shaped Grain technology on a heavy polycotton backing (X-weight). The abrasive grains are pre-shaped into triangular grains (Precision Shaped Grain) that cut through metal like a knife, rather than gouging or ploughing like traditional abrasives. These points continuously sharpen themselves as small fragments break away, allowing them to cut through material extremely quickly while generating less heat – resulting in fewer heat-related stress cracks and less discoloration. The abrasive delivers a consistent finish throughout its life and helps prevent burn marks. The fabric X-weight backing provides durability and the mineral is resin-bonded to the backing for reliable performance, even at high temperatures and pressure.
