Flap wheels are an ideal choice for a wide variety of blending, roughing, smoothing and polishing operations on materials such as steel, stainless steel, brass, wood, and synthetic materials. They are particularly appropriate where grinding or polishing work has to be carried out in a limited space, or when working on intricate shapes and contours as flap wheels conform superbly to the workpiece, whatever the shape. Designed to deliver a consistent finish with a uniform cut rate, flap wheels are made of edges in abrasive cloth arranged radially about a resin core which incorporates a shaft. The flaps wear away as they’re used continually exposing fresh abrasives. They are generally mounted on electrical and pneumatic portable machines or flexible shaft machines, and operate with a high rotary speed.
