Product details : NTN NUP210EAT2XU CYLINDRICAL ROLLER BEARING
Adapted to high radial loads and for use as a floating or fixed bearing, cylindrical roller bearings offer low friction and good rigidity. They are available in a wide range of models and variants tailored to specific contexts: heat, axial displacement, operating noise, speed, capacity, etc.
This NTN family of cylindrical roller bearings combines an ULTAGE™ design, an NUP fixed-bearing architecture and a T2X glass-fiber reinforced polyamide cage. This combination increases load capacity and service life while retaining the external dimensions of a standard bearing.
Decode:
- NUP: single-row cylindrical roller bearing with two shoulders on the outer ring and one fixed shoulder associated with a separable flange ring on the inner ring.
- EA: ULTAGE™ design with enhanced load capacity achieved by increasing the number, diameter and length of the rollers within a standard envelope.
- T2X: glass-fiber reinforced polyamide cage.
- U: NTN designation suffix associated with the NUP-type bearings in this range.
Features:
The NUP architecture of these bearings allows them to carry substantial radial loads while ensuring axial location of the shaft in both directions. This axial guidance capability makes these bearings a widely used solution as a fixed bearing in mechanical transmissions. Because the separable flange ring is removable, the inner ring must be axially secured during assembly.
The EA design from the ULTAGE™ range complements this architecture by increasing roller diameter, length and number without changing the bearing's external dimensions. This optimization increases load capacity while maintaining the same overall envelope as a standard bearing. The combination of large-diameter rollers, optimized roller generatrix profile and the ULTAGE™ internal geometry also helps to increase service life while improving permissible speeds.
The T2X cage in glass-fiber reinforced polyamide contributes to this performance improvement. Its low mass reduces inertia forces on the rolling elements while its wear resistance and sliding properties limit abrasion at the roller guidance. The material’s moderate moisture absorption increases its flexibility and resilience, which improves impact resistance and facilitates assembly. This design also helps reduce noise levels compared with some metal cages.
Maintenance:
Maintaining the performance of these bearings relies on appropriate lubrication. The choice of lubricant must therefore take into account operating temperature, rotational speed, applied loads and the operating environment. It must also consider the composition of additives used to ensure their compatibility with the polyamide cage. In particular, attention should be paid to oils containing extreme-pressure additives based on sulfur or phosphorus, which may alter the material's properties at elevated temperatures.
Maintenance operations include monitoring noise, vibrations, operating temperature and the condition of the lubricant. Abnormal changes in these parameters may indicate a lubrication fault, contamination or an alignment problem.
Particular attention should be paid to the operating temperature, which should remain between -20 °C and 120 °C. During inspections, it is recommended to check the condition of the glass-fiber reinforced polyamide cage, whose mechanical properties may change under prolonged exposure to high temperatures, humidity or certain incompatible lubricants.
Key benefits:
- Ensures axial location of the shaft in both directions within a fixed bearing.
- Carries high radial loads without increasing external dimensions.
- Enables compact designs thanks to the reinforced ULTAGE™ design.
- Facilitates assembly due to its separable design.
- Helps reduce noise and wear related to roller guidance.
- Suitable for high-speed mechanisms when lubrication conditions are appropriate.
Applications:
These cylindrical roller bearings are primarily used as fixed bearings in industrial gear drives and reducer shafts. Their ability to axially locate the shaft in both directions allows position control while supporting significant radial loads.
Common application areas include industrial gearboxes, gearmotors, conveyors, handling equipment and various mechanical transmissions. The increased load capacity provided by the ULTAGE™ design enables transmission of high forces in assemblies where available space is limited.
These bearings are also suitable for machines operating at high speed when component alignment is properly controlled and lubrication conditions are compatible with the characteristics of the polyamide cage. Because allowable misalignment remains limited, these bearings are intended for assemblies where shaft and housing alignment is well controlled.
