Axial grooved ball bearings are subdivided into bearings with flat surface areas or adjustable surface areas depending on the shape of the housing disc. Single-acting axial ball bearings can only absorb axial loads in one direction; double-acting ones can do so bidirectionally. Both are available for compensating for shaft offset or deflection with spherical surface area and adjustable washer underneath the housing disc.
