The IRWIN Marples M2153 Combination mortice and marking gauge made of sealed rosewood with a brass pull slide to adjust the extra spur for use as a mortice gauge. A knurled brass thumbscrew is used to secure the stock.
Strengths
Marples Gauges are fitted with hard wearing hardened steel spurs
In addition, the hole in the stock is carefully broached to match the stem's contour
They are fitted with a polyester friction pad between the thumb screw and stem to ensure a smooth sliding action
Mortice and Marking Gauge has a single spur on top of the stem and two spurs on the underside for marking mortices
The second of these is on a brass slide for smooth, easy adjustment
